Receivee SMS

Frequently asked questions

Everything you might wonder about disposable phone numbers and online SMS.

Is Receivee SMS really free?

Yes. The service is completely free, requires no account, and has no usage limits. You can receive as many SMS messages as you like on any of the listed numbers.

Do I need to register to use a temporary phone number?

No. You don't need an email address, password, or any account. Open the site, pick a number, and you can immediately receive SMS messages on it.

How long does it take for an SMS to arrive?

Most messages arrive within a few seconds, though some services delay delivery up to two or three minutes. The page auto-refreshes every 30 seconds; you can also tap the Refresh button to force a manual update.

Can other people see my SMS?

Yes. The numbers on Receivee SMS are public, which means anyone who visits the page for that number can see all incoming messages. Don't use them to receive sensitive information such as banking codes or password resets for important accounts.

Which countries are supported?

We list numbers from over 50 countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, India, Brazil, and more. The exact list rotates, since disposable numbers go out of service over time and new ones are added.

Can I use these numbers for WhatsApp, Telegram, or Google?

Often yes, but it depends on the platform's anti-abuse rules. Many users successfully verify Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Tinder, Uber, and similar accounts. Some services like Google increasingly block known disposable numbers; if one number doesn't work, try another.

Why didn't my code arrive?

There are a few possibilities: the number may be temporarily out of service, the platform you signed up with may have blocked disposable numbers, or the message is still in transit. Wait one to two minutes, refresh the page, and if it still doesn't appear pick a different number from the grid.

Can I send SMS from these numbers?

No. The numbers are receive-only. They cannot send SMS, make calls, or accept voice verification.

Are the numbers permanent?

No. Numbers are rotated periodically to discourage abuse. A number that works today may stop working in a few weeks. New numbers are added regularly.

Is using a disposable number legal?

Using a temporary phone number for general signups, privacy, or testing is legal in most jurisdictions. However, the terms of service of individual platforms may forbid disposable numbers, and using them for fraud or impersonation is illegal everywhere. You're responsible for following the rules of the services you sign up to.

Do you store my messages?

We do not run a database. Pages are rendered live from a public source and cached briefly at Cloudflare's edge so the site stays fast. We do not collect personal information from you. See our privacy notice for details.

How do I copy a verification code?

Open any number's page. Verification codes inside each message are highlighted as pink chips. Click the chip and the code is copied to your clipboard automatically.
